I'm throwing a pearl. Veil apon veil we are shrouded with misunderstanding, confusion, and the search for a truth that belongs to us as individuals. Within this internet organization, there are a lot of dark and sarcastic comments made in reference to Prince. To those that live further beyond a curtain than I can grasp, Your right to your opinion or your skill at negative venting, is beneathe a beautiful writer. This is why he is where he is, because he didn't clutter pieces of paper with trash. Now that another veil has been lifted, let us speak honorly about our purple host, or the Shakespeare in me is gonna come through this screen and sit you down, poetically. Thank you Welcome2thedawn-I thought on behalf of my outburst I would share a Sonnet that I wrote:
The Keys The keys fo love that will unlock my heart Like sun inside a room that's cold and dark Are words that live within an honest art That paints the truth with fire's tiny spark The black that sits upon the whitest lie Like dust has settled on the empty sheet Is still a shadow in the brightest eye A colder brush of love than passion's heat We sleep upon a canvass made of dreams That lovers' fingerpaint throughout the night There is no room to sleep with shadowed schemes The dawn is sure to bring into the light If you refuse to give the keys to me Let our love lie behind what I believed. Hmm.
Well, we all harbor our own opinions about Prince, a grown man whose actions have affected many of his acquaintances and fans in many different ways -- some positive, some negative. Inherent in the posts you find on this site -- which he doesn't host, mind you -- is the reflection of those positive and negative things. Some fellow Orgers seem to be of the opinion that ignoring the negative, well-documented, aspects of Prince is proof of a deeper loyalty to or appreciation of him as an artist. Others of us find that opinion silly. Prince is a grown man who has found well-deserved, tremendous success through his musical talent. But laughing at someone who refers to him as Symbolina, critiquing his weaker songs or condemning his penchant for suing fans are as much our rights as praising him is yours. | |
