"319" and "Showgirls"

So, I just watched "Showgirls" for the umpteenth time.

I've always wondered:

When Nomi asks for Cristal's room in the hospital the nurse replies "319."

So...what came first.

The finished movie -- and then Prince made the song "319?"

Or ---

Prince already had the song and they worked it into the script?

Anyone know?

I'm impressed that someone could watch "Showgirls" umpteen times. Although, I'm no better for watching "Under the Cherry Moon" AND "G. Bridge" a BILLION times.

the movie came out after the album(or at least after the album was completed as it was held up for a while) it does feature "ripopgodazippa) so maybe it's a nod to prince
