There was the time when Prince's camp asked his fans to mail their bootlegs to Paisley Park and I bet some them actually did... There was the sudden cancellation of the Music Club.... Crystal Ball... There was that really ugly spate of fan site closures during the 1990s and early 2000s... Roadhouse Garden... ...hmm, sounds so familiar The Sand Dollar episode -- wait. I must admit: I rather liked that. I laughed quite a bit over that one... THE B EST BE YOURSELF AS LONG AS YOUR SELF ISNT A DYCK[/r]

I and a friend of mine went to Minneapolis 2 years ago,my friend lives about 20 minutes away from Paisley Park. me and sarah (my friend's name) drove there and we parked the car down the street ,and we walked up to the Paisley Park entrance and Prince was standing there with a bodyguard I think He was getting ready to leave.me and sarah stood literally 2 feet away from Prince. Apparently he noticed we was standing there staring at him and turned and said something to his bodyguard and the bodyguard looked at us. Prince smiled and waved at us.then sarah took her camera out of her purse and snapped a picture of Prince, . Well,Prince's bodyguard didn't like the idea that we took the picture and he "escorted" us back down the street.

Sexxydancer, I know you've got stories-spill it! So embarassing, when Purple Rain 1st. came out...not only did I see it a couple of times a day for a month, I also took pictures of the screen, because I wanted my own shots. So that was crazy it took a few times to get all the pics. The audience would laugh, strange, that was embarrassing for me. One time I says 5 Prince shows in one week. I wore the same make-shift outfit everytime, trying to get him to notice me..that was in DC. He did not accept flowers from audience back then either.Sterling Silver roses are expensive. The last shameful story is during a visit to Paisley Park when P was having listening parties more or less for the Rainbow Children. All of us in a room listening to the cd end and into the room comes Larry G, his wife and then Prince. So he's kinda half-sitting on a pool table and we are all gathered around sitting cross-legged on the floor discussing the cd...at one point P looks over at me and makes some kind comment about Murderapolis and the wanna be gangsters cause this aint Chi or NY. and I could not hold my head up and look at him. It was the most close (arm's length) that I had ever been and I became paralyzed until he left the room. Boy did my co-workers tease me about that. My buddy sitting next to me kept elbowing me to look up and would not. We were in that hot room for a couple hours. So embarrassing

Your friend dropped his wife at the airport after convincing her it was better if she went WHERE alone? Help, please. I was trying to be a little discreet... Her brother was getting married in another state. They had 2 kids at the time, and he convinced her the airfare would be cheaper if he stayed home and watched one of the kids, but he had already arranged babysitting and gotten us tix! (His wife is NOT, I repeat NOT a fan, and we had been going to shows before he even met her. HE called ME and invited me along, so I figured he had it covered... He did- in a way... ) lol, i understand now, thanks.

Spring '02. One Night Alone tour. Prince comes to Edmonton for the first time ever, and no doubt the last.
Me: playing a chorus role in a production of Evita. Also, it's my birthday. Now in the theatre, you can't just 'call in sick', you know? But my friend has a friend who works at Ticketmaster, and has got us seats waaaaay up front. The 'shameful' part? I reluctantly blew off the concert, and dutifully carried my spear in Evita that night, like any other. I'll never forgive myself for that.

When I lived in San Diego, I borrowed a bootleg of The Black Album from a friend of a friend. It was a very nice copy with liner notes and pics too and I knew if he wasn't going to sell it to me, he was going to have a hard time getting it back. (we had discussed him selling it to me before) He said he decided not to sell it, and I told him I'd give it back... I never did.
I moved from San Diego later that year and knowingly took it with me. I've felt bad about it - karma and all... but, as each year passed, and I lost contact with the friend who knew the other guy, I didn't worry about it so much. Now, I'm proud to have it... yes, I've lied and stole for Prince. |

I only hope he has. Funny thing is, when The Black Album was released legitimately, I bought that one, too! |
