If prince had to release an album of cover versions .what songs do you think would sound great if prince did them in his own style .. heres a few songs i would like to see on the disc .in no particular order of greatness

1 - PROUD MARY (popular song . but a song he was born to sing)
2 - MAN COMES AROUND(johnny cash) .. A MUCH FUNKIER/HARD HITTING version
3 - LOVE IS THE KEY(the charlatons)
4 - CHAIN GANG(sam cooke) ... theres a few sam cooke songs he do well
5 - WORKING ON A COALMINE ... just funk it up
6 - DAMN,I WISH I WAS YOUR LOVER(sophie b hawkins) ..great pop song .which sounds like something he coulda wrote,produced anyway .. he would sing it well ..can also imagine Mayte doing this one well with her voice
7 - HONKY TONK WOMAN .. yeah he has already done a version ..but if he gave it the studio treatment an sang more than one verse .would be awesome
8 - GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU(george harrison) .. cheesey or not . he could belt this one out well
9 - FREAK LIKE ME(macy grey) .. this song is so prince .its almost more prince than prince
10 - WATCHTOWER/ BEST OF U .. it works well

1) Back In the Day (Puff) Erykah Badu generally cool track

2) Sex Machine James Brown obvious funky conotations

3) Foxxy Lady Jimi Hendrix a blatantly sound tune, that Prince would funk the s*** out of

4) If Divine Comedy a strangely beautiful love song that I think Prince could belt out beautifully and funk up a notch! BAM!

5) Day Tripper The Beatles can you imagine this funked up? I heard a Curtis Knight and Jimi Hendrix version of this before and it was great, gives me high hopes for Prince himself did it

6) Late In The Day Supergrass another unusual love song that I'm sure he'd recreate beautifully.

7) Give It Up Curtis Mayfield 'nuf said

8) Hush Deep Purple such a good song, this would be marvelous!

9) Cactus David Bowie quite a strange choice really, he'd need to do something with it to Princeify it but it would be cool.

10) Crabbuckit K-OS extremely Princeable track

11) Bruised Ben Folds really not sure if this could be pulled off but it would be interesting

12) Do Fries Go With That Shake? George Clinton now that would be seriously funked up!
