Parade as a double album Hello, I just read that Parade was originally supposed to be a double album. Does anyone know where I can find out if there is a setlist of what the other songs were supposed to be on it.Cheers

Parade was never intended as a double album.
I don't know where you heard that, but they got their information wrong.

I don't know where you heard that, but they got their information wrong. Boris beat me to it. Always a single album. where did you read this? The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. The boot "Music from the Motion Picture 'Under The Cherry Moon'"
is awesome! It's actually part of a set but if I said what set, I guess that would be telling?

It was never supposed to be a double album (from what I've read) but it's funny this was posted because I was just reading "Dance Music Sex Romance" yesterday and reading about all the great songs P recorded during the Parade sessions (like Others Here With Us, Old Friends 4 Sale, Splash, All My Dreams, Sexual Suicide, etc.) and I'm gonna burn my own Parade double album in the near future cuz the vibe of all those tracks is incredible.

One upon a time (in France) there was a bootleg called Charade. I'm not sure if it was an original configuration of the album or just a bunch of tracks someone threw together.
CHARADE In All My Dreams Girls And Boys Love Or Money Heaven Little Girl Wendy's Parade New Position I wonder U Under The Cherry Moon There's Others Here With Us Life Can Be So Nice Sometimes It Snows In April Old Friends For Sale Movie Star Data Bank Girl O' My Dreams

You might be thinking of "Dream Factory," which was intended as a double-album follow-up to "Parade." "Dream Factory" would have included some of the leftover tracks from the Parade sessions ("All my dreams," "Sexual Suicide," "Strange Relationship '85 version"). Parade was recorded in '85, with "Dream Factory" planned for the following year, but Prince cancelled it when he broke up the Revolution.

And the Dream Factory album then evolved into what was going to be a TRIPLE album called Crystal Ball (that focused on tracks that were more solo Prince efforts with less or no input/performance by The Revolution). However Warners didn't want to release a triple album and made Prince cut it down to a double album = Sign O The Times. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
