Chaos and Disorder So, I'm trying to complete my Prince CD collection I purchased Chaos and Disorder(don't ask why, but I did ). What track should I listen to first? Do you like or hate the CD?

I like "I Rock, Therefore I Am" very much.

just listen to the whole thing once. i think this album gets a bad rap (even though there is literally a bad rap on one of the songs, but that's another story). "i like it there" is one of my favorite prince guitar/rock songs.

I'll go ahead and say it--I like this album a lot. (I know; the cheese stands alone.) Part of it is sentimental, just because it came out at a very specific time in my life, so listening to it now takes me back. But even beyond that, I love C&D. I think I might be the only person on this board who absolutely loves Dig U Better Dead, but that song is incredible. Some may call this album filler, contractual obligation, or just plain crap, but I strongly disagree.

It has its rare moments but overall, its not one of Prince's all time greats. As a matter of fact, its probably the worst album he released in the 90's. Sorry to all of you C&D fans but this is my opinion so don't kill the messenger. Peace and be wild!

Only 1 good track on this album. Dinner With Delores. Everything else is filler. Kick the old school joint 4 the true funk soldiers.
1. Sign 'o' the Times 2. 1999 3. Dirty Mind 4. Parade 5. Purple Rain

you're not merely the messenger if the message is your opinion, right? so does that mean we now get to kill you for saying it's worse than NPS and Rave?

I was just talking about this album
along with D&P it's like the only 90's albums I dig all the way through love the opening track because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Right The Wrong for me is the weakest track. IMO the best tracks are the guitar/rock driven ones - particularly I Like It There. Kinda wish it had continued in that vein a little more with Empty Room, Calhoun Square and maybe even Strays of the World included instead of Right The Wrong and I Rock Therfore I Am. these are the days of wild........

I always wonder when I read similiar statements on this site, Why would any P fan NOT buy one of his cd's. Think of all the money you waste on mindless, souless bullsh@#. For the price of a couple frappachinos you can have a work of art that will stay with you forever. Anyways, "Dinner With Delores" is brilliant and the rest of the cd is criminally underrated in a great thrown together loose kind of way. The lyrics to DWD are a cool look at his divorce with WB.

!!!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

The whole CD is good, but ya gotta give it up for, "The Same December" I do love that video too, it was a riot. I love the end, the wild music, and the burnin'roses. It's like, "The rose of the phoenix right there, very sci-fi" "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I don't understand the hatin' on this album.
my fave is "the same december" there's a cool vid to it too. But almost all the tracks are good. It's not extremely commercial like 3121 may be that's y 2 many people hate it. Definately a thousand times better than the likes of "Come" & "nps". small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!

This album was a departure and something different for Prince. Very garage rock. I love the album because you can feel the anger twoards WB on most of the tracks - yet it feels like he knows he will be free soon and has a little bit of a celebration feel. A sorta, F-you I'm outta here!!!
