Gold Experience packaging

Crazy stuff. My Gold Experience jewel case was falling apart, among others, so I bought some replacement jewel cases and tonight I decided to replace the GE case since I had it out. Lo and behold, when I remove the black surface where the cd is held in place, I see for the first time ever the other side of the back insert, a picture of a cool-looking stage setup, presumably one for the Gold tour, or a different tour from that era. Hopefully someone can help me out here as far as that goes.

Anyway, I don't know if the original GE packaging came with a clear plastic surface for holding the CD, as I have other jewel cases like that. I bought my copy off eBay, so maybe the seller had already replaced the original jewel case before I got it. I just thought it was pretty funny that here is an album I've had for over a year now, and that has been in existence for 7 years, and I just now see the inside of the back cover.

I may have to investigate the rest of my Prince collection...

Ah, that answers one question then, thanks. Does anyone know which, if any, tour that stage setup was from?

It was the 'farewell to Prince tour' about '96 as far as I can remember, he played 'the hits' and then tunes from Gold-which wasn't yet released. There was a bed or something upstairs and Mayte spun round like a budgie on steroids.

The Live Experience Tour which commenced on 3rd march 1995. It was a 20 date tour of Europe.

It was the Gold Eperience tour stage.

It was Prince's first tour as prince
which kicked off at the beginning of
March 1995, almost 7 months before
the Gold Experience album was released.
In fact at the time of the tour, it was
unclear if the Gold Experience would
even be released at all.

The set mostly comprised of new (as
yet unheard) Gold Experience songs
and tracks from Come. A typical
setlist for the tour looked like
this...

Endorphinmachine
The Jam
Shhh
Days Of Wild/Hair
Now/Babies Makin' Babies
Sex Machine
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Pussy Control
Letitgo
Pink Cashmere
(Lemme See That Body) Get Loose!
I Love U In Me
Peach
7
Get Wild
Billy Jack Bitch
I Hate U/319
Gold

I SO wish I'd seen that tour. That setlist (minus Pink Cashmere and I Love U In Me) is pure quality
