I'm hardheaded, so try to convince me... That Musicology is not a solid f'n album.
I prefer 3121, but Musicology is that mothaf*cka. I've heard soooo many arguments and people just sh*tting all over this album. Haters. Haters. Probably MJ fans, pissed 'cause he couldn't stay relevant when 80's ended. =) Kick the old school joint 4 the true funk soldiers.

Can't help you either....I like Musicology too
I don't love it, but it was a good album and it was well timed. I much prefer 3121 though, as it sounds a bit more exciting and risky in comparison. If you will, so will I

I agree, it's a very tight album, I have no problem with it. Simplistic, balls to the wall funk. I'm not crazy about the title track though.

Musicology is a great album. I think you will have to go to another site to be convinced otherwise.
Title track is brilliant, especially Live! I also love "What Do You Want Me To Do"

MUSICOLOGY was a great moment in Prince releases. Consider his attack on the fake-ass music we are subjected to on a daily basis. Consider the beauty that is the title track. Consider the genius behind including a CD with a concert ticket sale. Consider the amazing brilliance that was the tour (I went twice in less than 6 months). Consider that he was the highest grossing tour musician the year of it's release, he literally spanked all the other tours.
Pure Prince, ya gotta love it! A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

Marrying Kind - Man in your Life is some great stuff in a live arrangement/direct message/honest music expression style that Prince usually doesn't do. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Good but very musically/lyrically safe album. I actually spent time with this one compared to my copies of Planet Earth and 3121.
