I would most definitely be honest.
My response would be, "Dude, I do recommend you pay heed to your fans request of releasing music we know you're capable of producing. Now, before you give me that 'are you crazy stare and signal to your bodyguard to jack me up like you did at Paisley Park,' keep in mind, I work to keep you a millionaire, by purchasing your new releases, singles, videos, and seeing you in concert. I want you to be a continuing success, but your songs lately sound like projects you've already released. I, on behalf of your supporter base, want to hear new groundbreaking music. I know you can do it because you're Prince. Now, if you want me to go into detail about this new CD and give you a cross reference on every song and the similarities to previous releases, we need to sit down and discuss this over dinner.

What's on your mind dude? did the mailman put your million dollar check in someone elses box!!! or maybe look at him and if he trusted me, he would figure out on his own what to do and bring a slam next time!!! HenkL said: I wonder if Prince checks out the threads on the org. There is no better way for him to get to know the honest opinons about his music. There is no use reading "This song sucks" or anything similar. But with reviews like "All the midnites..." above he could probably profit from constructive critique. Face-to-face I guess no-one really would tell Prince: Hey man, that's bullshit. Especially not at the first meeting. Once you're in for a face-to-face situation you might hope for a second one. It's not really like with a friend. You're honest with your buddies but not really with your idols. I sincerely hope Prince has friends telling him the truth when he seems to have a case of lack of creativity. Otherwise: the org might be the source. Musicians and music lovers, get constructive. There's is enough ways of giving reasons why you don't like a song. "It sucks" is no reason.
I totally agree, who is to say he is not checking out the threads, unless we were there in person watching him actually doing this, my opinion I think he might ocassionally check it out, not like we any of us would know. If I were in his position I would be going online to see what everyone is saying just for the fun of it, probably really would not care what was really being said, but any excuse for a chuckle or two. I would tell him I did not like his song, after all a true friend will tell you the truth... Constructive criticism never hurts to hear once in awhile, can keep us grounded.

When he sampled a song on the NPGMC and asked for comments about it I was honest.
I'm firmly planted in denial
