Gold Nigga - the music on it's own without the singing

is pretty damn amazing. the musical tracks on this album are ace.

it contains some of the most laid back music. i love the mixing n
the wild moments on it.

that jazzy funk vibe is pretty slick. and the horns are smooth music

the band sounds right on point.

who exactly came up with it? is this album a full fledged prince
affair with just tony on vox?

or is it more of a new power trio effort where prince, michael b,
sonny t put down the basic tracks in jam sessions?

say what you want about the album in itself but as a release it's
a link that connects prince's diamonds n pearls and symbol albums
to his more gritty and hard driving sound of come/gold that was on
it's way.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yeah, I LOVE the music on that album! Some of the best stuff Prince has come up with. Oilcan, Goldie's Parade and 2Gether are the best.

I always wished there was an instrumental version of this whole album. Musically, that band was excellent.

Take the instrumentals of this album and The Rainbow Children, place them side-by-side, and I think you'd see some interesting similarities.

Agreed.

I rememebr first hearing the tracks before one of the Birmingham NIA performances, and loving the stuff.

'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
