Prince on YouTube Questions

Is there a reason why Prince is so difficult to find on youtube? Several of the videos that come up under my searches say they've been removed due to copyright infringement.

Is it Prince's camp that's all over youtube or is it Warner Bros?

Let me know because if I search Prince one more time and see 50 Prince of Persian downloads - I'm gonna scream.

On the one hand, where vlips are copies of Prince's recordings there is an infringement of copyright that is being enforced.

If the clip has a performance of Prince music, then Youtube , by posting the clip, would be broadcasting Prince's music without paying the appropriate royalty each time the clip is played. Universal Music Group administer the rights to Prince's publishing interests and can enforce removal of such performances (as they have done on other unofficial fan sites). They also have a financial interest in this, because they are paid for ensuring the rights are administered correctly by the rights owner i.e. Prince.

What about MySpace? YouTube had Prince's SuperBowl performance on for a while. Then it was pulled. But, it's on MySpace. I have it on my page. Maybe they paid for it??
