Seriously, as much as I disagree w/ y'all - and as much as I think there's a bit too much unquestioning adulation over prince, I gotta admit -- y'all are smart folks, sophisticated, educated, savvy, clever. Go to any other mainstream pop artist fan forum and you encounter idiocy that makes you wonder how society functions. Even the dumbest posts on here are articulate and intelligible. This may not be as clever, but that's pretty awesome I must say.

I've noticed this as well. For instance every Michael Jackson community I've been to is full of unintelligible, raving loons, and I'm very impressed when I see someone compose and intelligent and legible post. Even during live performances, MJ gets just one person onstage, and they freaking lose their marbles and have to be removed by security. Prince will get like 20 people onstage, and they'll dance and sing and ultimately act appropriately, as opposed to having lost their minds.

This community, and Prince's fanbase as an entirety, just seems really..together. Like we've all got really good heads on our shoulders, and yet we're all crazy, but in the tongue-in-cheek intelligent way. It really is something I've noticed. I don't really get it.

Regradless of whether or not everyone agrees with this, we've got an awesome community here Ya'll are wonderful.

100% agree. I'm a relatively new orger and it stroke me from day 1 that this amazing community is filled with very witty, intelligent and (sometimes) sensitive people.I love being here!

I've found that most hard-core Prince fans are usually more open-minded when it comes to different forms of music and just being different. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Prince's music encompasses a wide range of influences and his sartorial style is...let's just say that Prince is unique.

Still, at times, being a Prince fan can be a lonely experience. Sooooo many people, young and old, can't get beyond his image to take him or his music seriously.

They're missing out.

Some of his lyrics are DEEP - he makes you think about the meanings behind the words....it's not kid stuff. I guess it's all from your own prospective though...I only read Prince sites, so I have nothing to compare it to.

this is a very interesting topic, all people i know who like Prince music, have been very intelligent, there is simply a different chemistry, i have been on sites from springsteen and U2 and it simply is not the same, even the rolling stones
