At this point,I really don't believe Prince could have a major hit song unless he signs with a major company and record a radio-friendly "pop" album again. He doesn't seem interested in doing this.

I agree with u, Its all bout marketin now, which is such a shame, cuz it should be bout the music. They say radio play is the key, and all the stations play pop-crap, Mtv is the real media player, and now they never show him, people are told what 2 watch, what 2 like, and most of them are so naive, dat they like whateva the latest fashion is. I mean pop idol, goes against everthing music stands 4, its foundation, but pop idol is as popular as eva, creatin a crap genre of music, if u got no talent, we will make u a star. Maybe the target-market has changed, 4 the worse; all dats in the charts is commercial,non-artist written music. But even now if music sounds unqiue, and fresh, it will be noticed.

I would love 2 c a remastered version of 'Empty Room' 95 version, it deserved a single realease and its most alternative Prince i heard.

Sam wink

please don't let him go back.its great the way he does it right now .do u see david bowie or whatever other great artist on the charts .no there are only 3 or 4 artist from the decade when music whas still real.1-mike (jackson) well he tryed (didn't work).madonna (sell out) she wanted 2 b popular again it worked but she did sell out herself. george michael (gets only in the charts whit a big scandel created in the news before releasing a single). and then we got are friends from u2 (eye love u2 they the rebels off pop music.now they are even more popular then a boysband but they sell out). music biss has changed .people with talent are not wanted.its more easy 2 get boygroeps and spicegirls .with no talent .give them lots of fame and money and they do anything they want from u.we must b proud that prince did have the guts 2 loose his so called popularity and respect with taking this road.and open it 4 other artists. and u think why everything failed with everything he tryed.do u think the music industrie are going 2 lett him win this game.they are afraid of him.because he's the only one who can win this.they will do whatever 2 keep him from radiostations and mtv's. he putted out lots off great stuff that could be in the charts last years. the only stupid thing he did was changing his name.eye understand why he did it .but alot off people don't.with this tour he's going 2 get his respect back thats more inportant then be in the charts.
woekie woekie!!!

do a video...i know he's sorta against videos, but they are fun and appreciated by the public...if anything, his fams would love em and buy a video collection. Imagine a person who doesn't know too much about Prince, flipping through the stations and seeing lil' man breaking it down. a good track would be "She Loves Me 4 Me", since it's a beautiful ballad, yet it's not too "weird" for the unenlightened.

Tell me what is it gonna take to get Prince back to number 1 again? What career move do you think he has to adapt?
