Prince and Ne-yo Working On Single? I Live In Michigan and was listening to Channel 95.5 (www.channel955.com) and heard the DJ say after Playing Ne-yo's "Because of you" song that Prince and Ne-yo are working on a single together.
So I called the station and she said it sure enough, but I can't seem to find any info about it online (anywhere). I didn't ask her where she got the info, but radio ppl always have the info. Either way that'd be cool (I guess), which could possibly land Prince on radio in heavy rotation again, thou Future Baby Mama, is doing extremely well on radio in most cities. But in detroit, nothing from Planet Earth is being played I'm wondering if this single is just a remix to Future Baby Mama??? Since the song is rising on the charts and ppl are taking a liking to it, I'm wondering if Prince granted Ne-yo (whose a huge prince fan) the right to remix the single as it seems to be the next release from PE! That would be only proper, Ne-yo remixing the song for a more wider release to pop radio or perhaps to get more adds from stations who haven't added it yet. Either way it should be a good remix, being that Ne-yo seems to be the "IT" guy at the moment and Prince doesn't have to do much anyways, since he's pretty much released the record and has left it up to the record label to get it out there more. Hmmm could be very interesting, I do believe Prince wanted to get off to a slow start with promotion of the album in the states, being that he knew the album would debut high (thou he doesn't care), but atleast its got a good start and artist can promote records for years anyways. So whether this is true or not, it sounds pretty interesting as to see what Prince would sound like being produced (rarely), by a up and coming relatively new talent like Ne-yo! What ya think?

i'd rather see prince work with gnarls barkley or dre 3000 before Ne-yo...but hey if he wants some of the 106/TRL base...why not

Even though Neyo has gotten his reputation as being a songwriter/producer for other artists (and himself) if he and P worked together P would be in control of the direction. Neyo is a decent talent. He's not the best but he's far from the worst. P has certainly collaborated with worse. I think it would be intersting to see what these two would come up with in the studio. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that Neyo has already signed on to work with some pop has beens from the 80's and I'm feeling I don't want to add P to the growing list of names he's worked with but I do think it would be a positive thing if he and P put something together. I'd love to hear the backing vox..

Not a big fan but a remix might be okay to get the teens to listen to P again since they seem to worship Ne-yo at the moment for some damn reason.
Really don't need a duet or anything major with him tho. Heard he was writing fro MJ's next album. Dude's done a lot of songwriting for only 20 years old but most of his songs suck imo but the teens like them and they buy the records so guess my old ass will just have to not listen to the radio

Prince and Ne-yo...how interesting I agree And I think Ne-Yo's great, especially compared to most other male r&b-ers of today. [Edited 8/9/07 14:49pm]

I don't know if I believe this. A couple of years ago I heard on the radio Prince and Usher were suppose to be working together.

Shit, I heard Prince and Ciara was supposed to do a remix of that slow song of hers ummm I think it was called "I Promise"? I don't know, but anyway I heard this off of the radio and she wound up doing the remix with R.Kelly. So there ya go! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...

no! unacceptable. ne-yo is cool for todays artist not for a living legend. i think that pairing would be like JD and Janet's 20 Y.O. *cringe* but alas, it would be great if i were proven wrong. wait. im sure i wont be. &

ACTUALLY ne-yo is a BIG fan of prince
And if you think about it; Ne-Yo is REALLY good compared to some of the songs today, I brought his first album and it's extremely good, I loved it. It's actual music, it's not all "bitches" and "hos". And I respect him , cause on his countdown he played alot of Prince videos. And his fav song is "Joy in repetition" Okay I'm done rambling on about Ne-Yo. To me, he could be the next big thing, not as big as Prince But about hal way close so them working toghter is pretty awesome Okay Im going to stfu now, I usually don't ramble like this. Your lips would make a lollipop too happy.

I'd be happy if they worked together. Ne-Yo's very talented, he's written Irreplaceable and Unfaithful and of course So Sick which were all huge hits. He's a very good performer (seen him live).

Prince and Gnarls could be incredible...something truly groundbreaking, original and unique. If he works with Ne-yo, it'll probably just end up as another average r'n'b track that could've been made by any number of other artists. And is bound to have shit drum programming on it...
