I liked it when P was in the basement, on the piano, after his dad had gone to the hospital. THe sun was shining on him through the blinds and he was looking up through the window, obidiently playing, but somehow looking up for strengh...of his dad, maybe?? I know ....it got me too!  This is 1 of My Favorite scenes 2. Also when Prince meets Eyes w/ Apollonia 4 the 1st.time and All the Concert performances! esp. The Beautiful One's

Yeah, the kind of fruit punch that has no name it just says " Fruit Punch" with a bunch of fruit on the side, and it leaves the stain in your cup that never washes out.  MAC & CHEESE in the box! when Apollonia is awkwardly trying to put her clothes back on in broad daylight
after having jumped into what WASN'T Lake Minnetonka, and she tries to get on his bike and he revs the engine teasing her: A: "hey, wait a minute. i must have looked pretty ridiculous, huh?" P: "no, no, you looked great." [she tries to get on the bike again . . . he revs off again] A: "hey, COME ON!" P: revs off a 3rd time (i think) finally he lets her on the bike . . . he turns back at her w/commanding eyes and voice saying, "Don't get my seat all Wet," they drive off as scene closes w/Take Me With U. | |

The beginning, middle and end!
Seriously tho when he arrives at 1st Ave on his bike and the crowd splits! That's freakin' classic right there. It totally sets the rockin' tone of the movie.
I love when he sees Apollonia for the first time at the club in those big ass glasses. He was so hot! 
The second meeting between him and Apollonia at the mall or whatever and he asks for her anklet. I love how he calls her out about who got it for her. The love scene was SMOKING! The "Beautiful Ones" made me all !
And "PURPLE RAIN" will always and forever be my favorite part in ANY movie!!!! "I am something that u'll never understand..." | |

I'm actually watching it now of VH-1---Sex Shooter performance.
One of my favorite parts is when he walks in and finds his dad playing "Father's Song" (the interlude to Computer Blue). The exchange between those two is classic. "That yours. Of course it is, whose else would it be? Gotten written down some place? Naw, man that's the difference between you and me". Plus, I love that song. I wanted it played at my wedding. Another is when he breaks Apollonia's face with the Darling Nikki thing. Classic. My 12 year old son always asks why I watch it when it comes on tv because I own it on VHS, the original DVD and the Anniversary Edition DVD. I guess I can't help myself. I love the scene when she comes into the basement with the new guitar she bought with her pawned anklet. She tells him to open it, and he's not doing it fast enough. She starts ripping off the paper, and then his reaction when he sees it..."Oh, no! Oh..NO!"
But the best part is when he reaches to take off his earring to give to her, and she just rips HER earring out of her ear and throws it on the floor like a little excited schoolgirl who thinks that earring is worth a million dollars. In the club after their Sex-shooter performance, even after they've fought, she sees him in the crowd as the curtain is closing and pulls on the earring to let him know she still loves him. I have watched this movie for like 25 years now. Recently I laughed out loud at the sheer silliness of a particular scene. When P and Apples are in his place for the first time (before they DID IT) and he does his little hypnotizing gesture with his hand, remember? She is instantly mesmorized by his POWERS.... (as I would be, ofcourse). But it was so hilarious to me. They do a lot of talking about nothing during that scene. But my God, that whole movie is sooooo delicious. So intoxicating,no matter how much I laugh at it as an adult. | |
