biggrin i love prince and purple rain but one thing sticks out is when wendy and lisa want the kid to listen to their song and wendy cuss him out. u go wendy.

I loved that part so much when it came out on VHS I recorded it to my tape cassette recorder and played it over and over again.
It drove my mom nutty lol.

It's misogynist as fuck, but the scene when Morris gets Jerome to throw that angry woman into the skip makes me laugh. Possibly because it's so misogynistic. What was he thinking?

The bit where Prince is standing behind Apollonia in the club, with his big mirror shades on, he smirks, she starts talking, and when she turns around he's gone.

Any of the scenes in his basement lair. Except for when he hits her. That still makes me uncomfortable.

The performance of "The Beautiful Ones".

Fink: "God got Wendy's periods mixed up. About once a month, she starts acting nice." (That is Fink, isn't it? Not sure, now I've written it...)

Poor Jill Jones, always trying to get his attention, always failing.

Oh I could go on...

Yes that was Fink what said about Wendy's periods. The scene went like this;

Fink: ""I got Wendy's periods reversed. Every 28 days shes starts acting nice, lasts about a weekend." then Bobby goes: "Pffft"

Sad when I have the whole movie memorized lol!

When Prince gives Lisa a kiss during the song "Purple rain" and she makes a scared face

It wasnt a scared face, it was because she was crying(if you look closely you can see tears running down Wendy's cheek).

I have to say that I always acknowledged that the acting wasn't great in this film and sometimes I cringe when watching it with others like my husband who saw it for the first time.

But when I watched it last night, ya know, it didn't seem so bad to me. Prince actually does a very good job and a lot of the others seemed comfortable acting, like Wendy for example. Well, except for the part where she's playing the Purple Rain music with Lisa and Prince walks in and she plays a little let's go crazy and then says "there you like that? is that better?" that was kind of cheesy.

But I was pleasantly surprised and so happy that the movie still makes me excited after all of these years smile

The only music movie I've enjoyed since PR was Hustle and Flow and that's probably because the director was very influenced by how Purple Rain was made.

I was 5 when the movie came out and remember being disturbed by it when my mom would watch it on HBO...but by the time I was 12 me and my friend would ride our bikes around and pretend we were Wendy and Lisa...kind of strange.

But at 15 is when this movie got me and I got it. I wish someone would play this film in a theater again so that I could experience it on the big screen...that would ROCK.

Purple Rain is my all-time favorite movie so for me it's loaded with favorite scenes. I was 9 when it came out and I remember being glued to my tv all day watching MTV just so I could watch the "When Doves Cry" or "Let's Go Crazy" or "1999" or "Little Red Corvette" videos, and the PR movie trailer too. Those are actually some of my fondest memories from being a kid...I actually feel sorry for the people that missed out on that because looking back on it that was an incredible time and even at 9 and 10 years old I knew it.

Okay so if I gotta pick a favorite scene...there are SO MANY...BUT...I'm gonna go with the scene where Apollonia visits THE KID's place, and it's all creepy yet cool, and his stereo is playing a girl's screams which are actually a girl's cries played backwards...then he gets busy with the beautiful Apollonia and is all feeling up on her...ummm..."toy box." Well I was 9 years old and I was like .... eyepop....lol...yeah that scene along with really the entire movie seriously changed my life. After watching that movie I knew I wanted to be just like P...making awesome music in his dungeon and getting the beautiful girl. I thought Apollonia was great in the movie but I wonder what it would have been like had Vanity been in it...I think it would have been even better with Vanity! Anyways, my favorite movie ever! cool

Any scene in which a speaker gets humped is pretty much a winner, as far as I'm concerned.

That scene is not in the movie or dvd, only in the trailer which I believe is on the dvd..it's an outtake where Prince punches JellyBean Johnson (I think that's his name) from The Time.
