We know Prince has always been ahead of his time. He accepted the fact of not being played on radio many years ago. I called my local radio station last year (100.3 the Beat) and wanted 2 know how come they weren’t playing Black Sweat. I was told that they didn’t have permission from Prince or his distribution company (Universal) 2 play his new music. I asked him 2 explain this 2 me and he said they were never given a copy of his music 2 be played, which left me more confused. They were feeding me a bunch of bullshit and I knew it.
I love this stripped down song. I never really head anyone here talk about this gem of a song before and I think it deserves a thread of its own.. Let me hear your views on this song

A profound and elegant, yet very simple, manifesto.

It is lyrics like these that make me want to puke double when I hear crap like Resolution.

Yes, this is a great song and I have never heard anyone here mention or talk about this song. Prince defiantly has an encyclopedia of songs. I just thought Don't Play Me would be appropriate since all the other threads have been about him not charting. Hell that was his reason 4 writing this song in the first place.

The Truth is my second favorite CD after Sign O the Times.....just goes to show that a future CD could be even better than Sign of the Times (for me at least)...it will happen ...its just a matter of time.
