Tough question. I even love the instrumentals. I'm really digging "Family Name" but if I had to pick one, I'd choose "Last December." The most beautiful funeral song I've ever heard. Starts somber, goes 6 feet deep, and then takes you to heaven!! | |

It's soo hard to say. Initially when I heard the album, I also said "She Loves Me 4 Me" As I listened to the album more and more, it grew on me quickly..
Songs like... The Last December The Sensual Everafter She Loves Me 4 Me The Rainbow Children Mellow That's Damn near the whole album... A lot of individuals feel as if TRC is a sign of Prince really losing his marbles

Tho if I absolutely HAD to pick one, I'd go for Family Name. There's just so much going on. The intro with the incredible bass going on behind those words. The song, the bridge. The SPIT. the solo. The T.J. and the Akashik records reference. And the "No. Noo-oo-oo-oo--oo-oo---oo---oo" scream. Yes, I definately feel the emotion and anger of Family Name.. the screaming is terrifying, really love this song.. can't wait 2 hear and see him do it live! But my real TRC favourite is... 1 + 1 + 1 = 3. |

In no specific order: TRC (it's smooth and ethereal, and the coda is abstract beauty that should last another 5 minutes) Family Name (a mind bender that turns into a smoker) Digital Garden (too short, but damn sublime) Mellow (listen to the drummer) This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

My fave is Family Name. Those drums...THAT bass! 3 funky...
When I copped the album last year that was the one track that I couldn't stop playing if I didn't have time to listen to the whole album! Strange, but Last December is the only track on the album that I don't really care for. I think the LP would have been stronger if it had ended with the funk blowout of Everlasting Now. By the way... at the end of Everlasting Now does somebody say "What The Fuck, I'm Out"? Sounds like that to me! Peace -----------------------------------------------
