New Vh1 Show - Clash of the Music Videos

I was just reading this on a gossip blog :

Drew Barrymore is producing a new TV show for VH1.

The concept of the show sounds interesting.

In each episode of Clash of the Music Videos, two contestants will be given a small amount of money to remake a classic 1980s music video. The stars of the original video will then judge the entries and pick the winner.

What ’80s video would U like to remake???

Wonder if anyone would remake a Prince video? And would he judge?

This concept actually sounds tight. I would remake "Smooth Criminal" though, that would be the shiznit.

But if I was a Prince video, I would do "1999", I think. As long as I got a sexy Jill Jones lookalike to dress in that outfit, that would be aaaaalllll good. biggrin

Great idea, but to get the iconic stars of the 80's to judge will be damn near impossible, I coudn't imagin' the like of Madonna, Prince or Michael Jackson. Doing that on a reailty show. I'd fear it be a lot of 80's has beens.

Any of the 1999 Videos. Cheap easy performance vids.

After all, Prince really never broke any ground money wise for vids (except Batdance and a few others).

Let's see. I love the 80s, so it'd be hard.

But if I could remake a video, I think I'd try "The Sweetest Taboo" by Sade or "Meeting in the Ladies Room" by Klymaxx. (But not "I Miss You" I hate that song!)

I'd be scared to try to redo a Prince video--though I'd make a cute ass Rosie Gaines--he might sue me! LOL!

The concept doesn't sound new since Mtv once had a show where they had fans remake a video of their choice I forgot the title though...

I think that show was called "Becoming".
