Prince doing the Cars "Lets Go"

Excuse me, but I LOVED Prince doing this track on the Minneapolis show. It sounded so much better than the original and more fun. I really wished he had put this on Planet Earth because it fits right in under The 1 U Wanna C.

Did he per4m this song anywhere else? And how often did he do it? I actually didnt even know what the song was until my brother shocked the hell out of me and said, "it's the Cars...u dont know that song?"

Yes I remember him playing this and thought it sounded cool...didn't know Prince liked that kind of music! He should go on a tour and play nothing but '80s classic rock small town bar tunes! LOL! The fans can all bring beer and set up a pool table... razz wink cool

Anxiety

that was a LOT of fun. i felt like i had been transported to bizarro world or like the acid had kicked in or something, but it was one of those increasingly rare prince moments when he does something waaaay outta left field and turns it into a party. loved it!

Wow I guess this was one rare time he per4med that song! Oh lawd Ima get it one day. He should do it as a b-side to The 1 U Wanna C (Which I HOPE is the next single. That song will do real good with a hot ass video of him in the desert playing live on some stage)

Two things that I had always thought for years that has come out with P doing covers here recently. I always thought, for some reason, that he got the title "Let's Go Crazy" from this song. And the solo from "Let's Go Crazy" always reminded me of the guitar solo from Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music'. Both songs he has recently covered. But going back to Krystal's post. I could always tell that P liked the cars. It's evident from his b-side "Gotta Stop Messin About". That shit is straight Cars. "Just What I Needed" to be precise.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Right I was thinking the same thing. This is what makes him the foremost genius of modern music: he listens to everything AND can then turn around and make it.
