#3 is pretty good!

Remember, it wasn't that long ago that Prince was written off as totally dead.

Think "Rave's" debut at #19. The albums, "Come," "Chaos and Disorder," etc. You would've been hard-pressed to think, that basically any old Prince CD would even debut in the Top 10 in 2007. Prince debuted higher than the new "Sum 41" album; and they were considered "hot" not too long ago.

I think rather than complain about how "Planet Earth" is doing on the charts, they should appreciate that he's even charting anymore after many, many years. And it's certainly not like he's going out of his way to promote this in the U.S.

Anyways, kudos for another good chart showing; for anyone who cares about such things.

I don't think it's bad at all. I'm really happy it is the number one R&B album.

Prince has been able to weather the changes in the industry pretty doggone well. Commercially, he was left for dead. His albums couldn't go copper for a while. If he hits platinum, it will be a great accomplishment, but because of the fact that no one's moving huge numbers, going gold would be a decent showing, saleswise and chartwise.

Trust me Prince doesn't even care about that chart stuff and he's said so many times, I can't understand why his old fans are still holding on to that aniquaited stuff when it's obvious he's trying to do new things in his music. People will just not let that man move on. confused

I'm sure Prince cares more about artistic value than where he lands on the charts. With that stated, though, he probably still wants to bring in the cash.
