Okay- since I was about 9 years old, I have been trying to figure out what the backwards portion of the Purple Rain album was saying. Even went so far as to try and spin my lp backwards.(When I was 9 of course) Obvoiusly didnt work! hehe Anyway- For about 20 years here- I have wanted to know what the heck they are saying. Does anyone know?

I think its something to the effect of :

"Hello, how are you?". "I'm fine, because or for I know the Lord is coming soon".

And people still complain about Prince and religious references in his music, more proof he's always done it.

Wow- thanx- never would have suspected that-all this time I thought it just HAD to be something extra dirty. Guess thats my own dirty mind workin! Thank you so much!

There are a couple backwards messages in PR. At the end of Darling Nikki, the backwards part is "Hello, how are you? I'm fine, 'cuz I know that the lord is coming soon. Coming, coming soon."

At the beginning and end of Baby, I'm a Star, the backwards message is "Like what the fuck do they know? All their taste is in their mouth. Really, what the fuck do they know? Come on, baby, let's go crazy!"

copy the track in Wav format..to your computer
Then with wav editer..(built in windows computers)
u can play it in reverse with cd quality

If you can find a VHS copy of Prince and the Revolution Live. It is played right after "Darling Nikki" (I think) in it's "forwarded" version...
