I think morningsong meant to say 'Yes he did. What does that have to do with the topic of the original post?' Simpleton.

Without a doubt "The Rainbow Children" is probably one of Prince's best albums lyrically. The musicanship on this album is superb. This album is highly underrated and was in my opinion highly below par as for its sucess.

TRC is in the top ten of my best albums!

I think moriningsong should better post what's on his/her mind.
I think it's funny that people on the org. bitch and moan for a new album for so long, get one, and start threads about an album (albeit a decent one) from years ago.

I think the Rainbow Children is brilliant. It reminds me of Lovesexy, because Prince was going through a kind of spiritual renewal.

- Agree. TRC is Lovesexy part 2. Like it or not, it´s all about spiritual renewal.

I love "The Rainbow Children" The Narration, every song...The seed for that record must have been planted a long time ago...Because Prince has done a wonderful job of growing love in the heart's of the public. How Prince's spirit carries his body through choices he makes are for his relationship to God. It is very kind of Prince to share his life's perspective. And the most apparent thing about Prince's music is that no matter how sexy it may be...what truly bleeds through is his heart wanting love to be here for all of us, Right Now. I have so much empathy for that kind of heart.

NouveauDance understood me perfectly. At the time I made my statement there were stickies set up by the mods for each and every song on the new CD so people could post till their heart's content without clogging up the entire board with same threads over and over again which leaves room for others to post whatever they wish. And if you haven't figured this part out there are a lot of people who haven't heard many of Prince's albums before and are just discovering them so they missed out on all the original hoopla, and would like to express and share their opinions too, if that's okay with you of course, O dictator of the Org. Is that spelled out in detail enough for you?

I love this album, Reminds me of lazy sundays, lying in bed, slightly hung over, and those beautiful sounds coming out of my brand new speakers (as they were then). Not a flawless album for sure, but a great flow to it, and the title track is wonderful. I hope his next project is more conceptual like this.

I loved this whole era though. I loved One Night Alone, NEWS, Xpectation (was it called that?), and the ONA tour was phenominal.

Love it!

His last best album IMO.

I don't think that there has been a stronger consequetive run of 4 songs on an album since, as:

She Loves Me 4 Me
Family name
The Everlasting Now
Last December

What do you think??
No child is bad from the beginning. They only imitate their atmosphere.

U R probably not wrong in saying it's his last best album. As the post above yours says,'Not Flawless' but close enough considering what the last 2 were like. U'll all pay out on me 4 not having Planet Earth yet! But my CD quota 4 the month has been filled, so I can't 'critique' it yet. So TRC & NEWS R the best Prince albums of this millenium IMO! cool
