Just Listned to Planet Earth first let me say that somebody is gonna get pregnant off of "somewhere here on earth" incredible ballad! this is an excellent album. I am not gonna compare it to any other album Prince has done before. I am not gonna say what other artists songs sound similar. There really is no point in doing that. The album is tight from top to bottom. should be a hit.

I won't be getting my copy til tomorrow from Amazon.com! That sucks, but I heard most of the album from MSN Music last week and I was less amazed. I guess/hope that'll change tomorrow when I hear it for the second time. Check me out and add me on:

Amazing and Classic come 2 mind!
Now that I have the actual CD I just bought I'm loving life! The quality of this recording is excellent and makes it all that much better This CD is everything that is Prince - pure pop, rock, R&B, jazz, and even a little country twang! Brilliant! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I wasn't feeling the snippets either, but the album really is pretty damn good. I never say "it is his best album since..." that always makes me want to smack someone, but it ranks right up there with his great 90's outputs like Come, the Symbol, The Gold Experience and Chaos and Disorder, which was my favorite era of his. I am surprised, I didn't think he had an enjoyable and cohesive album left in him. it might not be brilliant or challenging, but it is enjoyable, and that is enough for me. this message brought to you by logic.

I still don't have the friggin thing since i ordered it on Amazon. I am pissed since I thought I'd be seeing it TODAY since I preordered it ages ago. Can't wait to hear it in perfect quality since I am already diggin it on MSN! His best since Gold no question imo.

Don't judge this CD off of 30 second snippets. I did that with The Gold Experience back in 95 and I didn't like it. When I heard the whole thing, I was floored and now it's in my Top 10 favorite Prince CD's. I don't know if that'll be the same for you with Planet Earth but just give it a chance before you come to your decision on it. Same for everyone who reads this in who's in the same boat as Dancerella. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I just got done listening to it 4 the first time and I LIKE IT ALOT!
More than Musicology but not more than 3121. Somethin about Black Sweat, Lolita, Dance, 3121 have that mysterious Prince trademark on them, where Planet Earth is more polished and pressed. but i DO LOVE THIS ALBUm alot. I was STRUCK when i heard the first Billie Holliday like vocal on Somehwere.. ;omg: wow! I never heard his voice that desolate and vulnerable since Solo. The 1 U Wanna C, Guitar Resolution Lion Of Judah are slammin. Chelsea Rogers is great, I think it gotta grow on me cuz i still didnt get the track. Future baby Mama and Mr Goodnight are my jayms. And last....Planet Earth..... meh.... I could do without the 3 Chains O Gold, Strays Of The World intro. Nothin will ever be as impressive as Crystal Ball as an operatic opener and I just....wanted to like it but I feel it doesnt fit with the sound of the album...imo. Oh well cant like everything, it's just that Prince albums the FIRST SONG is usually THE HIGHLIGHT..the song u HAVE to listen to. And I just find myself going straight to Guitar unfortunatley otherwise..i like the feel of the album and I hope it does excellent! AND DAMMIT...I WANTED A BOOK! with lyrics and pitures of prince lookin at me like this u know...and who was on what song and the engineer....blah blah. Conventional buyers wont even know the names of the songs Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
