You do know that the bassline from that song is actually like one of "THE" sickest basslines he's ever had, right?[/quote] Without a doubt.

No, I would praise them to dead On a different funk note, I like his take on "I'll take you there" from the famous bootleg "2nd show that night". VEGAS STYLE; YEAAAAAH

I don't care if you think "Sexy Dancer" is disco-ish, it's still one of the funkiest james Prince has ever produced!
Other classic jams include: Let's Work DMSR Kiss Chocolate (have you ever heard his version?) Housequake Head Lady Cab Driver Erotic City Partyup If a Girl Answers (I may as well throw in some Vanity 6 songs too). Controversy Extra Lovable Irresistable Bitch Jerk Out (his version is stankier!) Love or Money Nasty Girl All Day, All Night (again, his version is tight!) Cloreen Bacon Skin Shockadelica Climax Feel U Up NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Oh yeah, and throw in 1+1+1=3.
I know it's from the millenium, but that song is funky anyways. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

You do know that the bassline from that song is actually like one of "THE" sickest basslines he's ever had, right? Doesn't strike me in that way. It's a good bassline, but still, if I think of Prince and funk, DMSR would be one of the last songs I'd think of.

Maybe if you took out synthesizer. Funny thing is, I wouldn't exactly say that "Prince" was the first one to use it on a considerable funky track. Hell, some of the funk pioneers have used organs and synthesizers. I think those instruments have a great potential to "PHONK" up a song when used right. "Funky Worm" is a great example of that. That is why I don't understand how "FUNK" could exactly be "TOO" computerized, unless there is no rumbling bass and no sight of "Rhythm Guitar", as you say. [Edited 8/3/07 10:16am]

[Edited 8/3/07 10:16am] Perhaps it is the synthesizer. I'm not a big fan of the song anyway, so I can't say that I've paid all that much attention to it. If I skip any song on "1999", it's that one.
