most of the time the setlists included these:

SPIRITUALITY
JOHNNY B. GOODE
GIRLS & BOYS
LOLITA
CREAM
BLACK SWEAT
KISS
SHHH
MUSICOLOGY
U GOT THE LOOK
PASS THE PEAS
JOY IN REPETITION
ANOTHERLOVERHOLENYOHEAD

i'm guessing that he'll also throw in some other well known hits
and he might even *shudder* start playing 1999 again.

and fcuz there will be Let's Go Crazy and Purple Rain, perhaps a
nice medley of Raspberry Beret/Take Me With U lol dead

you have to keep in mind that this is a stadium show and it will
be a bit different from his intimate 3121 stuff so i guess he'll
cut the really weird stuff.

but it seems likely to me that he will revise some older hits he
hasn't been playing in a while.

stuff like Glam Slam, When Doves Cry, Diamonds & Pearls, Thieves
in the Temple etc.

sounds unlikely when you list them like that but i do think he'll
be dusting off some more hits for these shows.

plus fcuz a handfull of well known cover songs or temporary hits,
like amy winehouse, and in england surely a beatles tune.

Sorry IstenSzek, I doubt that you are right.

During the March 31, 2007 Las Vegas show 18 songs were played.
5 out of those 18 are in your list...

i sure do hope he will.

it was a very pleasant surprise to see him play so many 3121 tracks live
since the release of the album. not only has he played almost every song
on the album on a tv or award show, but he's included many of them in the
setlists for his 3121 shows.

it's nice to see him play his new material as it's just released. he has
forsaken that for a large part of the late 90's early 00's.

Exactly!!
But there are still very little reports of Prince performing PE songs live yet.

I sure hope it's the silence before the storm.

i was under the impression there were gonna be lots of 'hits' being played, and with 150 songs jammed with the band we're bound to see changing setlists every night. i don't wish to speculate as to what he MIGHT play, but what about what he definitely won't that you wished he would? darling nikki anyone wink

Well considering this is called The Earth Tour and he's giving away free copies of the album, I'd be very surprised (and a little disappointed) if he didn't perform some of the new tracks...

i hope he opens the first show with Bambi, and gets that out of the way for the fan who said he helda sign with simply Bambi on it last time P. was there.

that'd be so different and unexpected to open with that and give it the FULL treatment. dag, i'd be mad jealous!

Just making a 'sidestep' here.

What about if Prince recorded these concerts on a soundboard, an ensembled the best moments from it to create a Live-CD?

I would love to see him do this.

I mean, The ONA box was mainly focussing on material from TRC and some lesser known tracks, and also that set was so hard to get and expensive that it didnt reach the public it should have.

Apart from all those unofficial bootlegs, and ONA as i said, he has never released a 'proper' live-CD

Maybe a nice idea for him to release such a live CD next year, when he is on 'sabbatical'.

yeah, that would be a good idea. especially now that so many people have
seen him live in the last decade.

he could release a sort of live greatest hits album that way, pref a 2cd
deal packed to the brim with cool performances of fan favorits and a few
prime choice cuts from his lesser known late 90's stuff to introduce the
people to those songs/albums as well in a mild way.

i'm sure a record company would love to release a prince live package if
it included his biggest hits.

question is, what about publishing/wb ownership of the material?

hmmm
