"Your Money has Turn from Green to Brown"?

What do you think Prince means in "Emancipation" when he says..."Your Money has Turn from Green to Brown"...???

If you listen closely you can hear "with corn and peanuts in it" in the background.
(Insert something clever here)

really? If so, then the meaning is clear...Money = Green, Brown = dookie with corn and peanuts unchewed.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I thought it was like a reference to leeves - meaning that with time, the leeves will turn brown and disintegrate, essentially becoming "worthless".

ding! ding! ding! we have a winner!

this has to be one of Prince's most obvious analogies...seasons? leaves? green to brown? Bueller? Bueller? now let us never see one of those ridiculous "Prince fans are so smart" threads when you guys couldn't even pick up on this simple lyric.
this message brought to you by logic.

yeah, toejam is right. It's an old expression - turning from green to brown. Fresh leaves turning into leaves of autumn
