Oh, alright. But just cuz you wrote such a long post and I can't be arsed to make a point he is actually blaspheming all through the song, claiming to be god, non-sexual and, hurray; a birdy. I like him best as a dove. Cuz it rhymes with love. And with glove. [Edited 7/27/07 17:15pm] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

His teachings were screwed up over the years by crazy people and people in it for their own gain. I can dig the echoes of his true life filtering through some of the books they wrote about him, though. Cool. I respect your beliefs or your right not to believe. The very fact you've thought deeply about though makes me think you are atleast open to the existence of God, no? Are you really sure there's absolutely no God? (athiest) One thing we definitely agree on is that mankind has mangled Christianity over the centuries to the point that curious ones don't know what the heck to believe about Jesus of Nazereth. Man...we ruin everything lol

Man...we ruin everything lol Pretty much. The best place I believe to start if you're truly curious about Christianity is C.S. Lewis' theology/spiritual works. Start with "Mere Christianity", "The Problem of Pain", "Miracles" and "The Screwtape Letters". For a bit of pop trivia, Bono's, "Mephisto" character is based on the demon, "Screwtape". Lewis was an atheist much of his life who gradually changed his mind and if you want some real insight into what Jesus was really trying to express, beyond the jargon of the day by the Bible's writers, I highly recommend his books - if you have even the slightest bit of curiosity about "The Truth". Speaking of which, that title is another great religious-themed Prince song. . [Edited 7/29/07 6:26am]
