Prince, Madhouse question?

Who were the orginal players on all the Madhouse albums? And why is the version of "17" on 1-800-New-Funk different then the version on Madhouse "24"???

TRON

17 was originally known as Carnac I believe and it is taken from the 2nd Madhouse 24 album, from 1993.

The original players in the Madhouse line-up if I remember correctly are Prince, Eric Leeds, Sheila E., and Levi Seacer Jr. But for the most part, it's all Prince.

On the 1st album all instruments were played by Prince apart from the sax and flute.

The 2nd album I don't know for sure but I would take an educated guess that it was the SOTT era band members and Mr P on piano. But maybe I'm wrong on that one!

I guess Prince recorded another version of "24" because he gave "17 (Penetration)", "18 (R U Legal Yet?)", etc. to Miles Davis.
