I went out today to get Planet Earth, release day.

I was talking to Mom while buying it and she said "somethings never change."

It been almost TWENTY-FIVE years of buying prince albums for me.

Everytime I get the new CD I get excited and end up feeling like a teenager
before I open the CD because I know I am going to get some wonderful new unique musical experiences that will be added to the soundtrack of my life.

I was not disappointed by Planet Earth. I think PE is Prince's best post Warner Bros release.

Best Post Warner Bros releases for me:

1. Planet Earth
2. The Rainbow Children
3. Emancipation.

this was my first time EVER listening to the CD before it was released. I was still excited to go to the store and get it. I got mine today!!!! Ripped the plastic open as I walked to my car and put it in the cd player and was excited to hear it in my car for the first time. I didn't want to burn any songs ahead of time... I had to save some things for the official release! I was so excited! I can hardly wait to drive to work tomorrow! hahaha

Got mine at Target this morning and kept it on repeat all day!

I always buy Prince's albums. I listened to all of Planet Earth yesterday on MSN and wasn't that impressed, though I liked a few songs.

I'll buy the album regardless.

I don't think I've listened to 3121 or Musicology since a week after purchase.

I guess my hope is that someday I'll "discover" these albums.

I've been buying them for 26 years, I am not gonna stop now- regardless!

1st time in a long time ive been really excited about a new Prince cd- i think the org had a lot 2 do with my excitement

Had a vacation 4 a few years from all things purple- but i have re-seen the light
only got musicology and 3121 earlier in the year

I did not buy it yesterday, but I will buy it this week.

Got mine the day it came out.

Went 2 Target @ 8:15 am headed straight 2 the new releases and picked up my copy. Then out of nowhere I recived a round of applause so I turned around and took a little bow. Only then did I relize that they were just having a little meeting @ the back of the store but I know they were all excited 2 see that I was the first 1 in the store 2 get it.

And I'm gonna have 2 say no I haven't allways got the CDs on release day. Only if they come out in Oct. do I not get them I let every1 who asks what I want 4 my bday know that I need the new Prince. If I don't get it it lets me know that no1 really loves me. But that hasn't happened cause mom always come threw! (That's cause Prince converted her when I took her 2 a concert!)

But like any other time they come out I even take the day off just 2 go home and listen all day! Just like I did yesterday!

hell yes! 25 years of buying on the 1st day. I couldnt even get out of bed yesterday (threw my damn back out!!) but my wifey picked up a copy for me! I used to fake sick in high school on days that Prince released a new album so I could book it down to Wherehouse Records when they 1st opened their doors

From beginning in 1978 until now, of course I got it! I wouldn't b without the best music around! I live for all the new and exciting changes he takes us through!

Absofreakinglutely.

But I get increasingly weird about hearing the music before the album release. I want it all in one block, and avoid hearing any tracks before I have the album in hand. Love reading threads about it; hate hearing snippets.

...& I usually only go to my lil' independent record store. Some albums (ONA, RC, NEWS) I have to get them to order...so I don't have a 'streak' of getting the albums on day one.

I'm loving PE, btw.

i had mine since the 18th but i bought 3 for my sister,nephew and young lady im dating now....they love it.

Bought my copy of Planet Earth plus a Blu Ray copy of Purple Rain.
