August 12, 2007-10 year anniversary of Prince/Larry Graham musical and spiritual brotherhood

I remember reading the Possessed: The Rise And Fall Of Prince" and reading that August 12, 1997 was the date when Prince and Larry Graham linked up at the Music Factory club to jam, thus marking the fateful moment when Larry and Prince would be musical and spiritual brothers in Jehovah Witnesses. I'm interested to reading honestly, from fans how this partnership so to speak has fared. I don't like specualting on someone's spiritual releationship with the universe cuz obviuously that is personal, but musically speaking peaking with "The Rainbow Children", the musicianship top-notch and songwriting not bad not good, just somewhere in the middle. With the exception with the aforementioned "TRC", the only other album i really think really shows his growth since meeting LG is "One Night Alone".

Hmmmm.....I wouldn´t say that Larry really influenced the musicianship ...the lyrics definitely...but then again, George Benson also played some part in this way before Larry ( George is also a JW, if that´s what you´re aiming at ).

Funny thing is, I read a Larry Graham interview in some German jazz magazine in 1995 where Larry mentioned that Prince was covering his songs and that they might hook up one day. This was way back in the Gold Experience days, with Hair, The Jam etc.

I went and bought a couple of GCS albums back then because Prince kinda hipped me to GCS by covering them ( and the Ohio Players...which is a good thing...thanks Prince lol ) but never in my wildest dreams would I have expected the rest of the Larry G. saga . wink
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
