PE - the source of the songs

Shall I preface: I am making pure guesses and have no real information to support what I'm saying other than my listening to the songs -- so, take it for what it is! (e.g. If I say "this is..." I mean "this is what I'm totally guessing it is...")

listening to PE, many of the songs reminded me of different eras, maybe they were drawn from those eras and re-recorded? Can y'all dig my comparisons?

1) Planet Earth --- Strays of the World
2) Guitar -- Peach
3) Somewhere here on Earth - this is probably new and probably done after listening to the Amy Whinehouse CD
4) The One U Wanna C -- Emancipation, or at the latest Cinnamon Girl
5) Future Baby Mama -- this is probably new
6) Mr. Good Night -- 1994, after Come around "Platinum" very similar to 18 and over and 2morrow
7) All the Midnights in the World -- 1998, new power soul.
8) Chelsea Rodgers -- New
9) Lion of Judah -- this has to be new - the lyrics are too lame
10) Resolution -- this was written on the toilet at 4:00am after reading the front page of USA today.

Yeah I agree, Midnights reminds me of Starfish if anything, nothing like NPS at all! no no no!

hahaha I'm slammed on this one, but listen to "until u're in my arms again" -- don't listen to the cheesy synth in the song, but the melody and style -- doesn't it remind you of that? I don't know, I don't think "Midnights" comes anywhere near the quality and beauty of starfish and coffee. lol that's the beauty of music though -- i can feel one way and someone else can feel a completely other way, yet we still both enjoy the song.

hmmm, i'm starting to see your point with "untill you're in my arms again" nod
and i also agree that it's not really starfish & coffee. i just had another,
well probably since 1988 the 7000th listen to Starfish & Coffee and i have to
say that All The Midnights In The World is closer to Pearls Before The Swine
and She Loves Me For Me.

anyway, i think all these comparisons are silly. a song is a song and shouldn't
have do be defined in either a good or a bad way through other songs.

nod

having said that, i do the exact same thing myself all the time "ooh listen to
this, it sounds like MJ's Who Is It mixed with Prince's Da Bang"

falloff

that's just natural i guess

People have posted so many times that most or all of the songs on PE
are from the Vault that it has now become a fact yet I've seen no proof
or links to back this up. It just keeps being repeated & repeated & so
now many people believe it without question.

Ok, I think I like yours better than mine lol you changed my mind! I guess that does show the pointlessness behind it at all -- but I guess we could say that about any post on this forum to some level huh -- it's all a matter of perspective.
