Or any other pop, rock, country, artist for that matter. These "artists" typically deal in 3 chord progressions and if anything is considered deep, it was done 300% better already by a real "genius" whom they lifted what their feeble musical brain could render.

Sorry, but its the truth. Prince is no "genius," he is a great artist. Quit using a word that should carry much more weight.

Genius is dependent on context (Thus Miles' quote about Prince not hearing Ravel when he wants to make love to his woman but drums n' shit). Why is a pop musicians musical mind inferior to a classical or jazz musician's mind? Well there is no strict measure of that so it's all subjective.

Okay then if hes not a genius what is he, the guy can produce and write music just like its easy for us to breath yeah theres other musicians that can do this but IMHO not like prince also if the figures are true he also plays between 20-27 instruments also theirs different type of geniuses, just so happens prince is a musical genius.

Someone who masters so many aspects of music with such an ease is a genius. Sometimes while seeing performing live, especially in his greatest touts and aftershows, I thought to myself, this guy is an alien.

I am only tired of the debate ....Whats the big deal ?? Some feel he is, some feel he isnt ...Respect each others opinions and move on ....No one can say yes he is and convert the masses ...He is a man not a religion ...

Prince is a musical genius. How many other artists out there have blended genres so effortlessly? Not to mention that he plays a variety of instruments, and writes and produces everything he records.
