PRINCE CANT SELL OUT ARENA'S ANYMORE ??? so what happened to all the doubters who said that prince couldnt sell out arena's in the uk any more ???...some people have no idea , do they...???.....people forget that prince was THEE musicial artist of the 1980s ...he sold millions of records and played for millions of people in his career and anybody who has been to one of his concerts is unlikey to forget it....
. . some people said that he only played three small theatre's during his last tour in the uk but they totally missed what he was trying to do during that tour....it was MEANT to be played in small venues to long time fans....that is why it was called the one nite alone tour ???...it was meant to be an intimate experience with the soundcheck access and the small sized concerts.... . . so now he has decided to play the bigger venues again and , because he hasnt done so for over 10 years in this country , their is a huge demand for tickets and he has sold over 400,000 tickets for 21 gigs at the new 02 venue.... . . it is no surprize to me how many tickets he has sold....but it seems to have surprized some fans [Edited 6/20/07 15:08pm] [Edited 6/20/07 15:09pm]

they're hiding with the same people who said Vegas would be a complete failure and also with the same people who said the NPGMC was useless and also the same people who said doing the Superbowl would be a mistake.

Exactly, just some real statistics. The Diamonds & Pearls tour at the time in 1992, dont know about now, was most successful & lucrative event of all-time.
Hes also done it again in O2 arena in London, record of 140,000 tickets in 20 minutes. Critics and mature people know, live theres no one 2 day on his level. Sam 8) Prince 2010 Good Luck for Future & Tour

Prince is NO joke, I remeber when he came to Philly on the Musicology tour, he started with 1 night and I swear they had to extend it to 3 nights the demand was so great, Prince did an interview on local tv and said Philly yall trying to kill me! [Edited 6/21/07 2:39am]

Prince will & still can sell out Arenas. Some people do not understand that as long as you have a large fan base (like his)....you will always sell tickets no matter how much you charge.

I saw people saying that and I just laughed. At the height of P's popularity he sold out 10 nights at the Capital Centre which was located just outside of Washington. Thats 20,000 seats X 10. Its still a record. Not even Michael Jackson who toured with his bothers that same year sold as many tickets although they played two shows at RFK (55,000) neither of which sold out!!!
P is the premeir live performer of our time. People go see him. The Musciology tour proved that. Even without a hit record. They came to see him. The highest grossing tour that year. Prince did 7 shows in DC for Musicology!!! Come on people wake-up. Dude maynot know how to market himself, take a promo shot that will appeal to all...but he can play live [Edited 6/21/07 18:03pm] Dance... Let me see you dance

Can anybody name one artist...just ONE who has a history of throwin' down at Afterparties after playing a 21/2 - 3 hour concert set? Those of you that have been around since the 80's know that this is just as much a part of his legacy as his music is!!! Nobody else does this! I just don't know where this man gets his energy! James Brown started that actually.

And thank you for calling this 40 something year old "really young"!!!

I'm surprised no-one has pointed out that Prince in fact has not sold out the arena shows at all - that claim was PR bullshit. As of right now tickets are available for every single main show. All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -
