Nelson George has been championing P since 1999. But when P started fucking up during ATWIAD and straying further away from what got him there in the first place, Nelson said so. P didn't want to hear that shit. Cavallo was on the outs with P cuz P wasn't getting the "yes man" syndrome from him so, he just put the two names together and u have one of the best things P has ever done. And one of his most honest. That's a real element of who P was that he rarely showed. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I dont remember Nelson George getting on his case but it explains Prince's confusion after SOTT. I do remember Prince being put off by his crowds being too "white." Damn shame...god forbid if a black artist tries to do something other than R&B/Funk.

Thanks for the synopsis. Was that in Billboard magazine (the Nelson George thing)? If so - I may have it. I tried to keep all my Prince related stuff from that period and I did subscribe to Billboard.

An interesting read is Nelson George's 'The Death of Rhythm and Blues'. Another is Kurt Loder's 'Bat Chain Puller'. It was written a while ago, but it contains an excellent chapter on Prince. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth
