RAW OR POLISHED PRINCE

Which one would you introduce his music to your children to and why, how, and at what age?

I had to add : How about to an adult who doesn't really care for or hear his music but now has an open mind?

my boy is 1. By the time he's 13, Prince will be 37 years away from his mid 80s heydey. A bit like my dad trying to introduce me to music from 1950. I would have probably not appreciated it much, Each generation needs their own heroes relevant to their time. The rest they need to discover themselves I think so I'll just leave my Prince CDs lying around for him to maybe discover and find cool rather than try to introduce him to it.

My daughter has been introduced to 90 percent of his music.
I have never let her listen to the "come" cd, or sister, or
head. Other than that, I think she has heard pretty much everything.
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

My kids have always heard Prince music around my house, it's been a part of my household for as long as they can remember.

Some people are like religious freaks when it comes to Prince. I have no interest in "introducing" anyone to his music, definitely not my kids. If anyone's interested and would ask me what to check out first, I'd say anything from '81-'88, so that's the "raw" Prince.

nod My 12 year old son has been "introduced" to Prince's music only because I play it in the car and at home almost daily. But for the most part my son will go to his room, close his door and listen to his own music. And that's fine with me.

What does this thread even attempt to ask? Is raw = to "swear words," or minimal production? It wouldn't hurt you to actually write what you mean but I'm not sure if you even know that yourself, so you are forgiven.

The pedestrian threads on this board grow and grow. It's so laughable that I am actually scoffing right now. HA!
No hard feelings.

My daughter is 4.5 and everytime she hears Prince on the radio (Thank you 99.7 in the Bay Area) or his CD or his ring-tone she yells out, "DADDY DADDY it's your favorite singer, it's Prince, it's Prince!!!"

She loves Kiss, Musicology, and (of course) Purple Rain. What can I say the kids got taste. (She selected those tracks with little or no influence from me...).
