While your method would measure the order by favorite, the methods used here are measuring something different. For example, if there were 3 albums left, say SOTT, Lovesexy and Purple Rain. Suppose 30 people voted, with 11 people having Purple Rain as the least favorite, 10 with Lovesexy as the least favorite, and 9 with SOTT as the least favorite. This method would oust Purple Rain. However, Purple Rain may be overall preferred using your method. For example, if every person who listed Lovesexy as the least favorite had Purple Rain as the favorite, and everyone who listed SOTT as the least favorite had Purple Rain as the favorite, the overall consensus would NOT have Purple Rain in 3rd place. The 2 methods here are thus measuring 2 different things. Let's use the following as an example, considering 5 people vote: Person A has order 1. Purple Rain 2. SOTT 3. Lovesexy Person B has order 1. SOTT 2. Lovesexy 3. Purple Rain Person C has order 1. SOTT 2. Lovesexy 3. Purple Rain Person D has order 1. Purple Rain 2. SOTT 3. Lovesexy Person E has order 1. SOTT 2. Lovesexy 3. Purple Rain Under our method, Purple Rain would be voted off, as it received the most votes for last place. However, your method of least points to order would give SOTT 7 points, Purple Rain 11 points and Lovesexy 12 points. They are therefore different methods. I suggest we stick with what we have! | |

This was the very first Prince album I ever heard. It was released the year I was born 1980. "When You Weere Mine" flowed through the air of the room and penetrated the wood of my crib as a baby. This is getting tough(er).
