It's a catchy combo of Peach and Cream.
Even if you don't like it, at least he's not recording 15 minute long dull jazz numbers these days. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I like jazz and even I have to say, though it sounds too defensive, you have a point.

i'd take 15 minute jazz numbers over this. i hate these generic rock songs he does every now and again, they're all cheesy as hell and they're all the damn same. i hated peach and i hate this.

the song is brilliant. A great example of what a pop song should be

Lets not go overboard here it is neither great nor is it rubbish. It is a catchy tune which works in the context of the album and as a first single it may encourage non fans to listen to more and maybe convert a few.

I really like this track but it has one big problem. The fade out at the end. What's that all about? There's a fine solo going on, but then it just disappears. Why not keep it up for two more minutes and end it properly? In fact, keep it up for another 5'46 and forget somewhere here on earth! RIP

this is my 2nd favorite song.....
the other songs are either musically good and the lyrics suck....or vice versa.... [Edited 7/15/07 14:39pm]

Like many other people on here, I see the similarities between Guitar and Peach/Cream. I like the track. Classic Prince...no not for me, but enjoyable enough. It is what it is, a fun singalong pop song. 8/10 " A mind changed against its will, is of the same opinion still"

Audio Adrenaline...pure and simple. For all the haters who said there wasn't enough guitar on the "demo" version.

It actually lifts the melody from 'Girls & Boys',
This is understandable, after all, if you're out of ideas were better to steal them than from eighties Prince?

i kept singing 'Back in the USSR' for some reason. anybody else notice 'voodoo chile's' intro at the end on the fadeout?
derivative in places, but i like it. alot. should be longer.

I only streamed it twice but I loved it. I would love an extended guitar part if he wants to do an extra version. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

He wasted alot of time recording this piece of shit! The 'demo' is MUCH better and would probably be the best on the album if he would have used that version. "Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system" - Bruce Lee

The album version has a more finished vibe to it. The one that was previously released, at least to me, kind of had a demo feel to it. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Well, I'm sure the whole U2/I Will Follow thing has already been mentioned here, so I'll just leave that, but I seriously can't hear or think of this song without being reminded of those annoying twins and how they played air guitar with their own legs while dancing to it. And don't forget their incessant, annoying hair twirling. It's funny you should mention that, because evey time I hear the song "Guitar", I can picture the twins twirling their hair like they do. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
