If you listen close you will find out that lots of songs between 1983 and 1992 have the same build up.

Intro
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Interlude of some kind (solo or whatever, or an extended bit)
Verse
Chorus

Perfect examples; Feel U Up, Irrisistible Bitch, Le Grind

It is easy to make blends of songs or medleys. Done it tens of times.

The first time I listened to Emancipation I started noticing that every songs first line was the name of the song !
It started to really bug me, and is why I just can't take the album seriously. Written by numbers, if you know what I mean !?

Thank you James because I've been saying this same thing for years.

The first time I heard "TGRES" I hated it immediately because he starts out the song with surprise "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold"

Prince does this way too often in my book.

The sung parts of 'Push' sound like parts of 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night'

'Tambourine' and 'Dance On' are similar
'200 Balloons' and 'Batdance'
'Glam Slam' and 'Escape'

'Horny Toad' and 'Jack U off' (a bit tenuous)

Nightcrawler

Insatiable, Scandalous, Damn You, Slow Love, International Lover are all very similar. But I love them all anyway

"Damn U" and "Extrordianary" are like moon after moon.
I mean, he dont even sing "Damn U" anymore sigh and thats my song.
Instead, he'll belt out "Extrordinary" woot!, which is my other jam!
I think that he does that because "Extro..." is like "Damn U" without the curse. nod
"Extrordinary...the love U make 2 me. It's some kinda scary. I would B a fool...2 leave U. 4 I was born 2 love U...this is true." (shudder) err
AND
"Damn U...Ur so fine. Seems 2 happen 2 me each and every time...we make love. I cant hold back. Its like having a hundred million lil heart attacks. Damn U, baby Ur so fine. (shiver down my spine) nuts
To me it's like the words are parallel thru-out the songs, but still, I heart heart heart them!

Huh? U mean the "I can give U power or I can take it away! I can make U dance cuz this guitar I play?" then the guitar solo that follows?
The piano part does seem similiar in the Max, its faster than the guitar...Im listening 2 it right now... okay its off now...OOO "Blue Light"! yay!

I'm not an expert on the Rave album, but isn't the line "I can make you dance..." from the song "Undisputed" and not "Rave..."?

"Baby, You're A Trip" and "One Kiss At A Time". Altough, not necessarily an improvement...

Mon Cherie let me ask you a question... do you think ANY musician's body of work could be examined and not find similarities such as being noted?

Mon Cherie let me ask you another question... have you ever tried to even apply different words to a song like, say, "Gilligan's Island." (dumb example, I know)

Mon Cherie, I think Prince is guilty of using formualae on occasion, but I also think that this chap has mastered the art of putting out good music -- and so very often he does do things that others wouldn't dream of.
La, la, la

I noticed the same thing in Emancipation it took me a LOOONG time to get over it and find value in some of those songs...I'd never thought about it with TGRES and that prolly is why that song bugs me so much...

***The songs "Sex In The Summer" and "Get Yo Groove On" both have the same line "we can party all night long" in the chorus.

***The song "Push It Up" features the line "everybody grab a body, pump it like you want somebody" which was also used in "Gett Off".

***The song "New Power Soul" is really just a re-written version of "Big Fun" from the 'Exodus' CD.

***The horn lines from "Eye Am The DJ" were also used in the song "Style".
