!7 Days and She´s Always In My Hair and Erotic City are equally great but Erotic City was a real hit compared to the aforementioned ones. It is an 80s club staple, an all time classic.

It's certainly the most popular. But I can think of quite a few that are just as good and several I like better.

The only flaw is that it sounds a little too much like Laid Back´s "White Horse" but , despite White Horse coming out a year or so earlier, I still wouldn´t rule out that Prince wrote Erotic City before White Horse came out. Maybe Laid Back heard an unreleased Erotuc City before they came up with White Horse.
There are a lot of similarities but Erotic City is still one of my favorite songs.

To each his own, but "Erotic City" is the only Prince B-side that made Spinner's list of 20 Killer B-Sides, coming in at number 10:

Erotic City was number 1 in 1984 on the soul/R&B Charts when Let's Go Crazy was #1 on the pop/rock chart. So I will say yes followed in a close 2nd by 17 Days.

They used to play these songs on the radio a lot between 1984-1989.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Erotic City could have been his biggest single ever had it been released in an age where sexual lyrics are acceptable - however, I would have to say that either Love or Money or shockadelica would be the best IMO. We were so spoilt in the 80s!!

I may be alone here, but here's a few I'd take over Erotic City:

Gotta Stop (Messin' About)
Irresistable Bitch
17 Days
God (Instrumental)
Another Lonely Christmas
She's Always In My Hair
heart or $
Alexa De Paris
La La La, He He Hee
Shockadelica
Escape
Feel U Up

I won't be offended if no one agrees!
