This was a greeting that Indian people used along time ago (some still) to say good morning! Life was uncertain and if you woke up the next day the greeting would be 'Welcome to the dawn' so yes I guess we all can be thankful that we have.

Too bad he changed that phrase to "Welcome to the Dawn"...because I don´t think we´re there yet !
Keeping it "May U live to see the dawn " would´ve been better...mankind still has a long way to go, we´re socially , politically and psychologically really not "there" yet and changing that motto was like letting the donkey eat the carrot dangling in front of his nose No seriously, the Dawn is a nice idea but has become too big of a concept in Prince´s music universe to live up to.Expectations would be too high. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
