So far, do you like Prince's 90's output or his 00's output? And why? "New Power slide...."

i enjoy them both a lot. but since the 90's are always dogged on so much
i made a chronological playlist with my fav 90's tracks and damn there's a lot of them lol (excluding old tracks on Graf Bridge and Crystal Ball) thieves in the temple thunder cream strollin' willing & able get off peach space pheromone papa dark letitgo dolphin gold i hate u shhh endorphinmachine days of wild 319 had u i like it there dinner with delores same december into the light i will big white mansion somebody's somebody in this bed i scream soul sanctuary joint 2 joint the holy river new world face down my computer the truth don't play me 3rd eye circle of amour welcome 2 the dawn come on mad sex the one wasted kisses ripopgodazippa calhoun sq interactive da bang acknowledge me she gave her angels goodbye what's my name? the greatest romance ever sold tangerine i love u but i don't trust u anymore beautiful strange strange but true one song that's a damn many cool songs for a supposed fucked up decade and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I love them both because they're loaded with incredible, fantastic music from the man.

doing the same for the 00's with my personal favs would look
a little something like this: when i lay my hands on u supercute u make my sun shine when will we b paid? sadomasochistic groove 2045: radical man silicon the rainbow children 1+1+1 is 3 the everlasting now family name she loves me 4 me last december nagoya osaka tokyo empty room xpedition xhalation xotica xpectation one nite alone a case of u pearls before the swine avalanche east magnificent reflection a million days glass cutter 3121 fury the word te amo corazon resolution all the midnights in the world lion of judah somewhere here on earth that's less than his 90's output but hey, he released less material up to this point and we're only on to the 7th year of the decade as much bitching as there is on this site about the 90's and the 00's output, i would urge people to make a list of their fav songs from both decades and see how much material there is they really like in both cases. it's more than most people might think straight ahead. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

So far, I like the 00's better. Prince's pop is seems less forced--and he doesn't have all the baggage of the whole name thing/dispute with Warners. The music reflects that. "New Power slide...."

I think of it more in groups.
I like '90-'95 best. I like '01-'07 next. I like '96-'01 least.

The 00s have been amazing..
I think the 00's have been consistently stronger material wise and much more focused. I think he has achieved far more in terms of commercial and critical success in the 00's His tours have been amazing. Musicology 3121 Planet Earth The Rainbow Children One Nite Alone are all fantastic records. The 90s had Diamonds and Pearls The Love Symbol The Gold Experience and really those were his only truly solid releases, you could include Emancipation which i really like, but to be honest there are plenty of clunkers on that cd.

Ask me again in a few years time.
The 00's beat the 2nd half of the 90s (post WB) no contest though.

Artistically : 90's >>>>> 00's Anytime anyday But I really prefer Prince as a person in 00's Prince in the 90's was full of arrogance, and so pretentious. I trully used to hate him in this decade. Now seems like he learned a lot from his mistakes, and he seems more mature, more humble and I like it. [Edited 7/12/07 16:13pm]

That's a tough one because there's so much more '90s music to choose from. He was insanely prolific then! So inevitably, there's a lot more great songs from the 90s, but also a lot more not-so-great songs.
So as far as albums go, I would choose the 00s But as far as individual songs, I would choose the 90s Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com
