Love it. It's my favorite song on the album. (Yeah, I said it, I meant it, whatcha gon' do 'bout it?!? ) I guess that also shows my disappointment in the rest of the songs on the album. I agree with those who said it's more "spoken word" than rap. I'm not saying it's a masterpiece or anything, but it's fun.
As I said on a few other threads I think it's the perfect combination of Prince tryin' to be all pimp (all over the world they call me Prince, but you can call me Mr. Goodnight ) but still displaying his corny sense of humor/not taking himself too seriously. The raisenets line is classic (like the TV dinner line in Bob George--you're like, "whaaa? " . [Edited 7/12/07 21:21pm]

I’d be shocked and appalled if this song is ever mentioned in the same breath as “Irresistible Bitch”.
But hopefully it doesn't get associated with “Mr. Happy” or “Life O’ The Party” either. It sounds to me right now like a silly piece of fun from “Exodus”. But his side project albums aren’t nearly under the same kind of enormous scrutiny/pressures of his solo albums. I very rarely eat them, but Raisinets are very closely associated with the movies. And the next line has him showing off his home theater. If you’ve got a mouthful of Raisinets, chances are, the image is of a person watching a movie while they're chomping down. In my crazy head, he’s sitting in front of his Plasma big screen watching a movie whilst thinking about the things he’d like to do with her body if she’d just give him half a chance (thus the “mind full of good intentions” humor that sets up the mouth/movie image.). These chocolate covered candies also tie in with the movie mentioned on the next line. [Edited 7/12/07 20:46pm]

Hmmm.
Didn't like it all on first listen. Prince doing his "rap" thang again. Second listen, liked it actually but realizing Prince isn't "rapping". It's, like others have said, "spoken word". The only thing is, it does sound like P's 90s "spoken word" stuff. That said, it aint that bad. The groove is nice and laid back enough to enjoy. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

You are all kidding yourselves with this "spoken word" nonsense. This is Prince does Biggie circa 1995.
Nothing more nothing less.

I dig it, it's a fun track.
On a side note, I understand the reference to notorious big, but I have this personal annoyance when people say it sounds like a puff daddy (or is that diddy) produced song - because he almost always just samples someone else (most recently erotic city by prince). So in this case, the music sounds like a Debarge song (Stay with me), not 'One more chance' by notorious big. Then again, I can see what you mean by the similar R&B/rap style in 'one more chance'. Anyways, sorry for the rant, I mean no disrespect to anyone by it, just a pet peeve.
