Some jackoff over on HQ even chalked it up to "sabotage by michael Jackson freaks intent on battering Prince's every single move" What a fucking moron. PE is just a really bad collection of songs. Is it as bad as his worst output? Probably not, but it's still bad. If you like PE then one of the following is true: 1) You and I have fundamentally different tastes in music 2) You are lying to yourself about liking PE for any number of reasons (to "justify" your current Prince fandom maybe?) I will be so bold as to say that if PE was released by a new artist, it would have remained a demo tape sitting in some attic because the derivative music and mundane lyrics would have been laughed at by any record producer. PE is the kind of bad album by a famous artist that gets released on the strength of his/her past accomplishments. It's a shockingly amateur album by a once great musician. PS: This is the first really bad album Prince has released since I became a serious fan back in 2001 (after TRC) so maybe I'm just not accustomed yet to bottom of the barrel Prince. seriously though, i love how so many here place their own psychological baggage on others. just because someone has a differing view then yours doesnt make it the end of the world...nor should it change your own opinion of the world.
damn, i really hope prince opens a 3121 forum soon so that folks who desire that type of environment will have a place to go. Space for sale... | |
