That's blasphemous, you're taking your love for a musician way too far. People will let you down. God is forever true.

and the human intellect evolved from a "big bang" and the subsequent random association of complex molecules that formed compounds (all in contradiction to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics or Entropy btw) and EVENTUALLY protoplasm, amoebas, trees, armadillos, and ultimately the mike mantroniks of the world.
that's like a tornado ripping through a junkyard and a pristine 747 Airbus resulting from the scrap metal.

but hey you gotta have faith in SOMETHING right.

no. actually, standing in line and being among thousands of fellow prince geeks of various intensities proved to me that i could be FAR more obsessed than i already am.

it's a lifelong hobby and nothing more - when it becomes more obligation than fun, that's when i pull in the reigns. of course, what i consider "obligation" another person might consider "fun".

i think a lot of things have happened in my life from which being a fan has been a catalyst, and sometimes i feel like that's a little culty...but it's really no different to me than being a sports fan and having people and opportunities enter your life because you're a fan of a certain team or sport. shrug

and ya know, for the super hardcore who dress like prince and have princey tattoos and go those extra hundreds of miles to live their famdom 24/7...bless ya!

I totally agree with your analogy about the tornado and the airbus. Just look at how complex the world is...How can anyone really believe that is just a random accident? I understand if someone disagrees with the concept of God as a wise man with a long gray beard sitting in a cloud monitoring all of the Earth's activities, but there is definitely a much greater force that put us all on this planet.

I wouldn't say "cult", but sometimes when I talk to people who casually "like" him and I start sharing about stuff we discuss on the Org like it's 2nd nature, I realize how far out we must sound to other people. redface
I make the confused face at some of the stuff I read on here, and I consider myself pretty hardcore. I can imagine what someone who isn't really into Prince more than liking his music thinks. biggrin
(A coworker actually said to me, "God! Its not a competition!" because she said she had all of Prince's albums and had seen him in concert, and in an attempt to share, I guess I "went off" lol)

Okay...I have found myself having to "pull back" at the risk of sounding "fammie" to an outsider... [just the fact that I just typed "outsider" says a lot.]

Yeah... we can be a "bit much". We'll drop everything for a show, buy multiple copies of the same song (in case it's different wink ), spend hours in an online fanclub, etc... cool

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

No - I just think he is seriously a person we can relate with. He is very down to earth and a spiritual being and a Minnesotan, with a great sense of humor! Sorry for the Minnesotan thing but there is lot you come to know just living here!
