Sonny T was a big influence on P's style too when then were growing up.The smart move would be to interview him. He was also doing early multi-tracking playing all the instruments.

Xactly!! At least, these are the ones that Prince himself has named in interview (Guitar Player magazine) as his primary rhythm guitar influences.

Check out Roger Troutman of Zapp fame. He's a badass on funk guitar, too.
