The Role of Dancing in Prince's Songs/Life

Ever notice how Prince uses "dance" in his songs. Sometimes as a metaphor it seems and often in lieu of sex (Lolita), a prelude TO sex , to resolve confrontation (Bob George), to just dance, or something else entirely.

"why can't we just dance, why can't we just dance" (Bob George)
"Bob, if u out there, lemme see u dance, they said u was funky (Bob George)

U danced so hard i smelled your perfume - Girls & Boys

i, think i wanna dance - Kiss

i saw your friend first, that's who i danced with - Electric Chair

-Lolita, how bad are u girl, bad, then come on let's dance, (Lolita's response; DANCE?!)

-also the whole way Mayte "entranced him" as a belly dancer who could flip coins on her stomach (The Continental)

it's been said some view dancing as "vertical sex" and your rhythm as a peak into your uh, don't wanna say bedroom SKILL, but that's the gist, or shall we say, fluidity, can't find a good word here.

so basically wanna here your thoughts on "dance references" in P's music and if you think it's indicative of a certain "sexiness" (or something) to him

It's a standard theme in pop music. If you're making danceable music, then dance is a natural thing to sing about. Check Earth, Wind and Fire, Kool And The Gang or even Madonna.
