Eye Love U, But Eye Don't Trust U Anymore

Was listening to this earlier, and realised I'd never really heard much praise for it before. It is such a brilliant track, easily as good as some of his classic ballads.

That would be all.

I'm really liking this album at the moment. Beautiful Strange is great from In2, but there are some good tracks like Baby Knows, The Sun, The Moon & The Stars, Tangerine, Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic and Prettyman on the album as well. It's just a shame it has too much filler like Everyday is a Winding Road, Undisputed and Silly Game.

Also, speaking of guilty pleasures, is it wrong that I've been listening to Newpower Soul a lot recently? I think that Come On and Eye Like Funky Music are brilliant!

Since I bought the "Rave in2..." version, I've never played again the original version of the album.

Still it's a shame that "Strange but true" was ommited from "Rave in2..". It's a killer tune.

amongst the rest of the so-so material on rave.

Would it be safe to say that it was written for Mayte?

one of the saddest songs he's written, always gets me. Just like sometimes it snows in april always gets me.
It's a mess, ain't it, sheriff?
If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here

I'll add myself to the list of those who think this is an amazing track. I think the vocals, lyrics and melody in his voice are all killer.

Isn't this the on that Ani Difranco was supposed to have a hand in?

Great song by Prince. Sparse and genuine; not calculated and generated such as Future Baby Mama.
No hard feelings.

I remember me and a friend giving this album a listen to when it came out and after this song we turned to each other and were "this fucking guy! God damn." because it was so dramatically good.

On the live versions back then he ended the "refrain" on a different, going up instead of down, IIRC. Made it even better, IMO.

Rave is worth it for this gem alone. That part where he sings "I remember meeting you here in the good old days" always gets me. I remember listening to this album first time feeling abit dissapointed with it, then this songs creeps in and just thinking.....WOW. Very sad song.

I like this song too.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."
