Not really, especially since Prince is an incredibly popular artist and no longer a cult hero. If I was a fan around 1981 then I'd probably say so.

Gil Mantera's Party Dream on the other hand.....

I was a fan in 1982, and it felt more mainstream to me. But there was still an element of being different from everyone else since I was such a huge fan - pictures of him in my room, wearing t-shirts, and coming home every day from school to dance to DMSR. Woo Hoo. I'm still coming home to dance to his music. Thank God for Prince!

Well considering I've never been in a "real" cult I wouldn't know for certain. wink But a lot of times I feel like I'm actually fighting to stay out of a Purple Cult whose members think being a "true" Prince fan means one has to be estatic over every thing he does, love every song/album he releases, and if you don't you're automatically labeled a hater.

God is a creation of humanity! A way to explain events that are not explained by the human intelect

and the human intellect evolved from a "big bang" and the subsequent random association of complex molecules that formed compounds (all in contradiction to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics or Entropy btw) and EVENTUALLY protoplasm, amoebas, trees, armadillos, and ultimately the mike mantroniks of the world.
that's like a tornado ripping through a junkyard and a pristine 747 Airbus resulting from the scrap metal.

but hey you gotta have faith in SOMETHING right.

This'll sound rude and obnoxious. Almost all the sentences in that paragraph are stolen and then glued to thought processes in your head you seemingly can't articulate into language yourself. The tornado/junkyard blah is a hilariously discredited and almost spasticly simple-minded analogy only used by people whose brains are (allegedly, mods) filled with broken neuron connections due to their ongoing (predisposed/genetic/inherited/influenced) inability to think outside accepted mysticism and vampric condtioning concerning a mythical fairyman in the sky with CCTV in all our heads with judgement in the post for us all. Let us discuss the intricices and theoretic debate behind the second law of thermodynamics without the aid google, sir. Your move. smile

As a TRUE prince fan, I don't feel I'm in a cult.

I feel I have to be tolerant and share a double seat with a delusional cult group who think they are true prince fans, or think that there is one definition.

They used to have there own seat on there own bus, but that bus got taken off the road..... wink

Cult. yet we all are leaders in our own way. how many of u grew up as a prince fan in the middle of close minded non prince fans, were u not viewed as maverick and somehow by way of your purpleness cooler than everyone else?. due 2 princes longevity and seeming ageless quality does he not somehow remind others that u were a founding member of that cult?.
