I love this song. One of the few classics from that album.


I sometimes wonder if this was part one of a 3-song trilogy, with Into The Light and I Will immediately following, and when he used the latter 2 tracks on C&D, he decided to add the 2 minute guitar solo in their place.


I don't know why I think that, but I just do, when I hear the last words in the main part of HR and the intro to Into The Light.

it's a beautiful song that shows how passionate he can be. i'm not as deeply religious as he is in this song, but i think it's beautiful.

This song was a literal life saver for me...It got me out of a deep dark funk! I love it!

I Love The Holy River! Some friends heard it on the radio and loved it. Then they stopped playing it on the radio. Go figure...

One of his best of the 90's, and the best track of Emancipation, though Jam of the year comes close.

for some reason I cant listen to this song.

It's one of a very few of his that I really don't like, I like an instrumental part in it, but that's it. This song is weak, especially as it's from Prince.
